How to write tweets that get clicked and retweeted
Are you writing excellent content on your blog but don’t get too much traffic from twitter? It could be because your tweets are not compelling enough to make people click on the links to get to read your great information.

Here are 3 good tips to write compelling tweets. I am using great examples from the Ultimate Blog Challenge tweets:
1. Ask questions to engage people.
Examples:
What do YOU think? Is Social Media A Help Or A Hindrance To Your Creativity? http://wp.me/p1GUaq-cm
From Facebook Insights: What does “Talking about this” mean? http://bit.ly/ygjPTT
Do you approve comments like ‘Good post!’ on your blog? Join the conversation at http://bit.ly/zGp4ld
2. Don’t just say what your post is about but also how it helps.
Examples:
Add Giveaways To Your Blog For Free http://ow.ly/8n2iY
Self Publishing your eBook the DIY Way! http://su.pr/1gSwaL
Did You Miss This? ScreenGrab! A Free Screen Capture Tool for Firefox http://bit.ly/eeeVbK
3. If all fails, just ask people to retweet!
Simply add ‘Pls RT!’ at the beginning or ending of a tweet. At the end of the tweet might be better because people will be reading it last as a call to action.
Your turn!
Next time when you tweet, try to make the tweets more unique by using one of the tips above. Want more examples? Just search to ‘how to write compelling tweets’ in Google. If you have tips about what worked for you, please share by leaving a comment.

Thank you for these useful tips. Of the three, asking questions is my favorite, and I find keeping them short and sweet makes responding easier. I agree that mentioning benefits trumps mentioning features, and a respectful “call to action” always helps. For example, it just got me to “Like” your Facebook page.

I know that the tagline “Did you miss it?” got me to do a double take and click on the link!
I also find that varying the title for the same post helps as well.
Thanks for sharing.

I definitely need a serious twitter bootcamp! I need to learn all of the acronyms too, when I first saw many tweets with RT, I was puzzled as I related RT with a common teenager phrase (I have 2), “Real Talk,” lol Thanks for these tips I will put them into practice!
